One in a million

I first met Graham when I was 11 years old and my mother (Gillian) was his secretary (along with her dog) at Avon House in Bournemouth. I often used to visit the office during school holidays and Graham used to come in and lean over the counter for a chat. He was always interested in what everyone was doing and would always offer sound advice. We often used to laugh about the time my mum came me some money to buy some clothes for my first job interview and I came back with some disco clothes!

Graham was my Mum's salvation when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. They made the most of the time she had remaining and enjoyed many days out. In the last few weeks of her life, he moved in with her and took over her full care. She wanted to die at home and although this was an extremely challenging time, he remained calm and determined to make sure her wish was fulfilled.

Following my mum's death, Graham provided me with support & strength to deal with all the funeral arrangements, managing the estate and generally helping me cope. He became my mentor, friend, father-like figure, grandfather to Danielle & Lewis and a big part of my life. Everyone that met him would always say ' What a pleasure it was to meet such a lovely grounded man'. I will miss all our conversations where we would put the world to right and of course his infectious sense of humour which always seem to make everything seem ok.

Graham was one in a million, a brick, extremely caring, kind and a true gentleman and I feel so privileged to have had him in my life and we will all miss him so much.

RIP Love you Graham xxx
